I Corinthians 16:13 says, “Stay awake, stand firm in your faith, be brave, be strong.” What do you picture when you read this? To me Paul is making no small statement. He is saying that if you want to finish the race and get that gold crown, you need to plant your feet on the ground to the point that not even a moving train can budge you! When I look at the Greek Bible, I read: “Watch! Stand in the faith! Be a men! Be strong!”
How strong is your faith? When trials come do you blame God or do you rejoice in Him for having enough faith in you to trust that with His help you can stand firm?
When I am tested I look to Job 2:10: Job said to her, “You’re talking like a foolish woman. Will we receive good from God but not also receive bad?” In all this, Job didn’t sin with his lips.
Trials help to strengthen our faith. We are given a command to hold strong. The way we do this is to ask Jesus for His strength because He will never give you more than you and He can handle together.
I believe this falls in the “What would you do to spend one day with Jesus?” My prayer is that you will call on Him during your times of trouble.
